The black bear is a family member to both Squamish and Lil’wat people. It is found from the the valley floors to the alpine meadows in both territories.

Located in Whistler, the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre provides an opportunity for students to experience and explore the history, culture, and art of our distinctly different Native cultures. Hands-on activities, guided tours of the museum and exhibits, and cultural presentations offered by our Squamish and Lil'wat ambassadors provide students with an understanding and appreciation of our cultures, past and present.
