Tour Description

Our tour starts off with a Cultural Presentation followed by a 15 minute film, a spectacular visual portrayal of Squamish and Lil'wat traditional territories featuring our languages, history and present day lives. After the film, our tour allows you to view exhibits that explore our relationship to the land and objects that celebrate our traditions of art, music and ceremony, past and present. In our contemporary gallery, view modern Native art from both nations and finish your tour in the Salish Workshop located in the Longhouse, make a cedar bracelet or try one of our custom Salish crafts. Bus pull-outs are accessible from both Lorimer Road and Blackcomb Way for passenger pick up and drop off.

The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre is a shared legacy project of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, part of a larger agreement that includes a package of economic, cultural, sport and capacity building benefits and legacies for the two nations. The Cultural Centre will provide the local Aboriginal people with an opportunity to show the world their Native art, language, traditions, history, and culture.
